They're Happy . . . . We're Tired

(An Island Escapade Story with our Labrador Retrievers)

.

It was our friend Paul and Donna who sent an invitation on facebook to join them in an island hopping in Samal Islands with our labrador retrievers. They had visitors from Canada, who were also dog lovers like us, and wanted to bring them for a whole day escapade in Samal.

Dave and I went to our meeting place at Sta. Ana Wharf around 8:00am. Paul and his company was already there and it didn't took very long when others arrived. Bruno suddenly got excited when he saw other labs came out from the cars. He kept pulling his leash wanting to ran towards where the labs were, to meet his new found friends and of course his mommy Carrot and sister Pumpkin.

Joperson 4 (the motorized boat) immediately left the wharf when everyone was on-board. Our first destination was the Vanishing Island located between the mainland of Davao City and Samal Island. It's a small white sand island formed by the sea current and becomes visible only during low tides.

The water was still torso high when we arrived at vanishing island, but it didn't stopped us from taking a dip with our beloved labradors. It was Bruno's first time to swim in deep waters, though he already experienced being at the beach when we were at Seagrass Beach Resort last year. And just like the other labs, Bruno too seems to be enjoying the waters. Sometimes though, I have to carry Bruno to keep him afloat so he could catch his breath and relax for a while, them swim towards the other dogs again. After more than an hour, we left vanishing island.

Our next activity was snorkeling, but before we proceeded to the place, our boat went towards Pearl Farm Beach Resort. The resort was having their main restaurant and docking area renovated, so we just passed by and had some photos taken from the boat. After a few more minutes we arrived at the snorkeling area. We left our dogs in the boat and immediately took a dive, it was a sight to behold. Sadly, Dave forgot to bring his underwater camera. We took our lunch on the boat and dived a little more after lunch

The last stop was at Babusanta located at Talicud Island. The beach is bless with course white sand and crystal clear waters. The sun was already high and burning when we arrived there. Though there were coconut trees and some cottages a few meters from the beach for shades, we were enjoying from having our photos taken, playing and swimming with our labs. The labs were unstoppable, running (off-leash) around the beach and joined the Korean tourist playing volleyball. We thought they might get scared and mad that we have to chase our pets and bring them back to our group, but the Korean's seems to like the labs, some even pet them. The lab seems to be tireless and having so much fun. We left the island around 4:00 pm tired and spent.

We really had a great time with our labs and new found friends that we began talking about our next outing, of course with our Labrador Retrievers.

(Special thanks to Dave Penn for the photos)

    1. Wow, dami mong dogs, taking care of Bruno was already a challenge for us, much more with 4 dogs. But the good thing is they make us happy and keep us relax. That is why we also have to treat them to have fun some time =)

  8. It is obvious from the pictures that the dogs enjoyed themselves as much as their owners from this refreshing trip.

  11. BRUNO is such a lucky dog because you truly exert much effort in making him happy even it means getting tired. Loving a pet is indeed unconditional and I'm sure he will love you in return more than you expect.

BTW... the photos just prove you all had fun playing with your LABs in the beach.
