La Comida Deliciosa de Hola España

SM Lanang Premier opened to the public on the second day after the Grand Opening Ceremony on Sept. 27, 2012 graced by exclusively invited guest. Anyway, on its second day I went there after office to have a glance of the new mall. The traffic congestion was terrible (just like in Bangkok) and the taxi driver has to go around to find an easier way. He has to go back to Cabaguio St. and try the narrow streets at the back of Assumption College which was far longer way with less traffic. When we finally arrived at the mall, we were almost drowned by oceans of people. It was extremely overcrowded, but it never stopped us to go around and checked what new things this mall can offer.

It was already past 8 in the evening when we felt hungry. We tried to looked for a place to eat but all of the restaurants and fast-foods where full with so many people still waiting outside to be accommodated. So we decided to go out and walked towards Damosa Gateway which I haven't been to for a long time. We went to Hola España, this was my first time in this restaurant. There were only few diners inside when we were seated. The waiter immediately gave us the menu. I am not very familiar with Spanish dishes and so the waiter took time to explain to me each dish that I pointed. He suggested that we try their Paella, sadly I am not a fan of it so I declined. I told the waiter I liked to have something light like salad, fish and chicken so we went through the menu again. Then we had the following:

Roast Chicken in olive oil, with potato & olives

Dory with lemon butter sauce
HOLA ESPAÑA Bodega de Vino y Deli is a Spanish inspired restaurant, it has a cozy yet relaxing ambiance. They have a wide collection of wine for the diners delight and ample variety of cheeses, ham and other processed meat which you can order on a per 100 gram basis. The waiter explained to us that food preparation will take around 25-30 minutes. So we requested that the green salad be serve first. The waiter brought the salad after a few minutes and with it was a complimentary garlic bread. I find the salad really good, everything was fresh and crunchy. Not very long after he served the rest of the dishes. The roast chicken was savory and tender. The marinade was evident and tasted on the meat. You cannot go wrong with the Dory fish unless you overcooked it. The lemon butter sauce has further enhanced the taste and juiciness of the dory fillet. We really enjoyed the dishes served to us and the waiter was so attentive that made our dining experience more enjoyable.

    1. The butter must have neutralized the lemon. It's a bit sour but it complemented well with the dory =)

  11. Feels like SM Lanang really made a buzz about their opening.

About the foods above, for sure Spanish dish taste as good as Filipino dish since they seem to be similar in terms of ingredients and way of cooking.

    1. Yes, most of filipino dishes were indeed with spanish influence maybe because of the hundreds of year we were colonized by them =)
