Enjoying the Sugary Sands of Boracay

http://www.journey-ni-ikoy.com/2012/09/enjoying-sugary-sands-of-boracay.html

It has been said the the sugary sands of Boracay is incomparable, and it really keeps me wondering how it became so fine and white from end to end. It's my second time it Boracay and unlike the first time where I was in a hurry to explore the whole stretch this time I decided to just enjoy the beach, the water and the company of a friend. As soon as we reached the shoreline from the resort located near D'Mall, I put off my sandal and placed it inside my net bag and walk barefoot.

Boracay shores shows different faces depending on what time during the day and night you are there. Early in the morning only few people waits for the sunrise. There were a number of joggers and some who does an even steps walking along the shores. There were some who does an early swim while others like us was just ralaxing and looking around.

It becomes a little crowded during mid-day  when tourist were already awake and looking for places to eat breakfast or lunch. While late in the afternoon the crowd seemed to double maybe because the temperature has become bearable and many were waiting to witness the beautiful sunset.

At night Boracay becomes more alive because resorts and bars displays different "gimmicks" just to lure people in. From food, drink promos, fire dance, band playing music and others you can think of was there to entice people to spend their time and money for the rest of the waking hours.

A very relaxing morning in Boracay
Early morning walk along the serene Boracay beach
You can buy fresh seafoods in the nearby market and have it cooked here
Manga-on Ta!!!
A relaxing afternoon along the beach of Boracay
Tourist leisurely walking along the beach
Boracay gets very crowded late in the afternoon
Sunset in Boracay
Boracay at Night
Regardless of what time you were there, one thing for sure you cannot stop yourself from enjoying Boracay.

  4. Boracay is really amazing. My one and only trip to Boracay was in 2000 when it was still not that crowded. I prefer quiet days at the beach to relax.

    1. If you really like quite place stay away from station 2 where all the partying are just around. Station 3 and Station 1 were not so crowded. And there are also other resorts at the other side of the island which I will be exploring next time =)

  6. never been to boracay and am not sure if i will still go there ...not fan of a crowded place ... too much commercialized. I rather go to the adjacent Carabao Island ... clean, quiet and serene... people have preferences .... mine is simple ...

  9. Glad you got to spend more time in Boracay on your 2nd time there. As for me, I always enjoy my time whenever I'm on the island. :) I've been there 3 times, and will make my 4th trip back to Boracay this December since one of my good friend's will be getting married there. :)

    1. Wow beach wedding!!! It sure's going to be very romantic. I hope they will have good weather that day. My nephew's wedding had his wedding there a few years back and was supposed to be done at the hotel's beach ground then it rained very hard that they have to transfer in a small chapel for the ceremony. It was fun though =)

  10. These days, Boracay has become more of a party place like Ibiza than a relaxing getaway. Like lovemindanao, I'd prefer a beach where I can relax and unwind in peace. I'd probably visit the main island for a day just for the heck of it, but would much prefer staying in one of the adjacent islands. :)

  11. Like LoveMindanao up there, I've never been to Boracay. And based on your description, Boracay seems like a really good place to spend some time in. Come to think of it, Boracay wouldn't be famous for nothing, right? I really would love to see and bring a bottleful of the sugary sands Boracay is famous for.

    1. just do it secretly because they do not allow it. I don't know if there were island police monitoring tourist from taking home sands, though I manage to bring a small mineral water full of boracay sands. I got it at night shhhhhh =)

  19. I am in Boracay having breakfast when I wrote this comment. It's a really nice place to visit either to relax, chillout or to have a good time partying. It's the crowd and the overall vibe that makes the place a must to visit. Just heard that it was voted the world best island tourist spot in the world for 2012 by Travel + Leisure Magazine!
