Adventure @ Universal Studio Singapore with my MOM

http://www.journey-ni-ikoy.com/

We woke up early the following morning,  hostel rate we paid included a simple breakfast composed of bread, margarine and coffee.  It was my first time to stay in a hostel and I can't complain, the rate was so cheap and we are thankful that there's breakfast included.
We wanted to get an early head-start  since we need to figure out how to get to Sentosa.  From Service World Hostel (China Town) we started to walk towards Outram Park MRT Station.  Immediately after arriving at the MRT Station we went to the ATM Machine and tried to load credits to our MRT Cards.  I can't understand why the machine kept on rejecting my payment.  I tried asking people (who are also queuing) how to reload our MRT Cards and even they cannot explain why the machine keeps on rejecting our cards.  A few more tries and still the same. I went to the counter and asked the lady what's wrong with our cards and she told us that our card is for 1 trip only and we need to surrender it to the machine so we can get a refund for the remaining value and buy another card.  Ha ha ha ha ang tanga tanga ko (so dumb of me) ...... sorry we have no MRT in Davao City and even in Manila MRT Cards are not automated yet. Anyways fare cost SGD2.10

We alighted at Harbor Front Station then followed the people where they're going, assuming that everyone was going to Sentosa Island. We also doesn't have to worry because there are lots of sign along the way leading us to Vivo City Shopping Mall where another MRT Ride is located. Getting to Sentosa and around Sentosa Island can be made via Cable Care, Sentosa Boardwalk or  Sentosa Express is located at the 3rd Level of Vivo City Shopping Mall.  The fare cost SG$3 and  you can use it around Sentosa Island as many as you can.

There are 4 Stations in Sentosa - Sentosa Station, Waterfront Station, Imbiah Station & Beach Station. Since Universal Studio Singapore Park's operation will be at 9:00am yet, we decided to go check first the Beach Station where we are also scheduled to watch Song of the Sea at 7:40pm.  We took the free beach tram ride from Beach Station to Siloso Point.  Sadly most of the attractions are not open yet, we are not excited we are just too early :)

After a while we took train from Beach Station to Imbiah Station to see the Merlion.  The place was dusty and under renovation so being there was not so pleasant.  So we decided to proceed to Sentosa Station to finally see Universal Studio.

Finally here at Universal Studio

Finally we were inside the Universal Studio, we presented our voucher at the reception area and the receptionist explain that we have access in all the amusement parks inside. She also gave us a discount vouchers for the food and souvenir items. We went around immediately and just couldn't hide our excitement. I remembered the same feelings during my first time at Disneyland Hong Kong when my childhood dreams came true, but this time it was my grown up dreams that came true =) Even my Mom felt young again and enjoyed looking around.

Set of Water World (a must see)
First we went to watch the Shrek 4D Adventure. It was very amusing to actually feel the action right from our seats. Complete with bumps, bounces, jumps and water spray that bring the action to life.

Then Dave and I went in side "The Revenge of the Mummy Ride" an indoor high speed roller coaster. Set in 1930's Egypt, the Golden Age of Egyptian Exploration. Just like in the movies, we traveled to an era when Pharaohs tombs were discovered and during the explorations, terrible curses were unleashed. Fireballs, swarms of scarabs and warrior mummies terrifies the riders in total darkness. I was really shaking, for a while after that scary ride =(

Water World was very entertaining where actors are interacting with the audience. There are 3 seating areas inside: Soaking Wet, Partially Wet & Dry Area. Most of the time Actors move around the first 2 areas and spray water to the audience. We decided to sit at the Dry Area because we didn't extra clothes to change later. It was really fun. This is a must see =)

Just trying the safety feature of the Cyclon Ride.  Sadly it was not open  yet.  A reason to be back Universal Studio
The next place we went to was the Sci Fi City. At the right corner before reaching Sci Fi City we saw what looks like an action film shooting. We went near the location and heard the narrator explaining about 3 elements of an action film, and these are the Here, Villain & a Lady in Distress. It was fun watching as the actors run, bounce and jump on the set, doing a fight routine while saving the Lady in distress.

We then went to New York and Holywood where we watch the set about a major hurricane that hit New York. It was hosted by Steven Spielberg, we were amazed as the set came to life and made us experience what it's like to be in the middle of the catastrophe.

Dave and I also tried Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure and was frightened by the loose dinosaurs. My mom and Dave's sister Karen also tried the rapids after we convinced them to try it. Universal Studio was almost closing but Dave and I made our last ride at the Canopy Flyer where we saw the birds eye-view of the Jurassic Park.

We all had a great time with our adventure at Universal Studio Singapore. The parks closed at 6:00 pm so we went out, took a train to Beach Station for our Song of the Sea Show.

Note:  A friend adviced me to buy Universal Studio ticket ahead because most of the time if you buy it on the same day chances are tickets for the day are already sold out.  So I booked my Tickets via internet while still in Davao.

  10. We actually had the same itinerary in USS (almost). The only difference is that you got to take photos with several characters! :) We weren't able to have that opportunity since it was drizzling most of the time that we were there. I was there last Nov. 2011. :)

  14. Medyo mahal pero it looks like the fee are all worth it. If nagagandahan na ako sa Enchanted Kingdom, paano na lang kaya magiging reaction ko kapag napuntahan ko na'to?
