Fun Run with Bruno my Lab

   October 30, 2011

It is Merco's 65th Anniversary and for the last 5 years they have sponsored and organized a running events in Davao.  More than 2800 runners participated in the said celebration this morning and Bruno my 5 months old yellow labrador retriever and I joined the 3K special category and that is walk-jog with your pet.

It's my first time and Bruno's to experience and participate in a "fun run"and never expected that a lot of pet owners joins an event like this.  They said that there are more than 50 dogs of different breeds and sizes registered.

Though Bruno runs a lot in the house and does his daily walks, he has never done nor trained for a 3k walk/run.  I thought I will be carrying him in the middle of the game but he survive.  Bruno and I started jogging when the starting shot was released and he seems to be enjoying the run because he saw a lot of other dog's running or walking too.   We were told to turn back to the starting point when we reached the 1.5K mark and Bruno keeps his phase with me.  I had fun walking the dog & Bruno seems happy and enthusiastic about it. On our way to the finish line, we passed by some big breeds on the side sitting and won't move anymore yet Bruno still keeps going until we reached the finish line.  I don't know our rank but I am so proud of Bruno because he finished the race :)

After the race, we were given a certificate, refreshments and a pack of goodies for Bruno.  And the more important thing is I had a wonderful time with Bruno my Lab.  Hope I will be able to participate again in running events such as this.
