Wet and Wild at Sunway Lagoon Water Parks

It's our day 1 at Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. We immediately fixed ourselves when we woke up past 7:00a.m.  then went down to take our breakfast.  There was only 1 vacant table in the restaurant.  The lady seated us and gave us the menu.  Since I have no idea how Malaysian food taste like, I choose an american breakfast instead.  The dining was filled with other tourist of different nationalities.  Chinese, Taiwanese, American, Australian and others (can't recognize the language they are speaking).  After our breakfast, Dave and I asked the front desk staff how to go to Sunway Lagoon. He told us that the easiest way was to hire a taxi.  I ask a taxi driver named Mr. Lee how much it would cost us for him to take us to Sunway Lagoon.  He told me myr100 I haggled and we agreed to myr90.  I do not know how far Sunway Lagoon is so we left our fate to Mr. Lee.

Mr. Lee is a nice person, he talked about KL and about the other places to see.  He even offered to take us to a chocolate factory since we will passing it along the way.

The ride to Sunway Lagoon took about 30 minutes passing through so many high rise buildings, towers & skycrapers.  I was amazed at how progressive and modern Kuala Lumpur is.  Mr. Lee dropped us at Sunway Pyramid a shopping mall located at Bandar Sunway Petaling Jaya.  Its distinctive landmark is Egyptian inspired Pyramid with a lion at the entrance.  The interior has 4 entrances called Oasis Boulevard (North, West, East & South ) housing 700 specialty outlets.  Exiting at the East Wing you will easily see Sunway Lagoon.

Sunway Lagoon has 5 different theme parks : Water Park, Extreme Park, Amusement Park, Wildlife Park & Scream Park.  Entrance fee is RM100 and you will have access to all the 5 Parks.  Since we arrived almost lunchtime already we opted to 3 Parks (Water, Amusement & Wildlife) Access which cost us RM80 only. After paying they gave us an access wrist band to the park.

Reminders when you are at Sunway Lagoon
1. Food & drinks from outside and cigarette are prohibited inside SL
2. Follow the life guard's instructions at all times.
3. Children must be accompanied by adults at all times.

Dress Code in the Waterparks
Allowed are: Aerobic suit, T-Shirts, Swimming Suits, Body Suit, Short or Long Tights
Not Allowed in Pools & Slides are: Jeans, Jacket, Saree, Shorts with buttons & zipper, underwear, glasses, snorkel, mask & flippers.

Dave and I tried first the Niagara Falls Flume Ride.  It was so fun that I tried it again with Karen, Dave's sister. We got a little wet from the flume ride we then went to the other part of the Amusement Park and took some photos on the other attractions. After a while of walking around the park Dave, Karen with my Mom tried a roller coaster.  It seems not very dangerous but gave them a thrill.  I was left to watch our bags and took photos of them.

We then decided to try cross the hanging bridge where you can see the view of the whole Sunway Lagoon. From Amusement Park we crossed the bridge that ended at Extreme & Water Parks.  The view was breathtaking.  To the side you can see the different parts and rides of the park and behind are the view of Modern Hotels & buildings.  Below was the large pool with simulated waves.  Because of the height of the hanging bridge people swimming below looks very small :))

Down below is Sunway Lagoons Water Park

When we reach the Water Park, Dave & I change to swimming clothes and tried the water park slides.  It was fun, there's not much tourist because it was a weekday.  Then we tried also the different water slides. We were having a good time and we were like children again playing on the water.

The last ride we tried was a roller coaster.  It was so scary because the roller coaster run on top of the many structures of the Park. I was shouting wildly (the loudest shout of my life),  I wanted it to stop because I wanted to go down already.  Of course the operator didn't hear me, and all I can do is closed my eyes and pray that the ride will end.   After the ride, my knees got so weak that I needed a few minutes rest to gather my sanity again :))

We really had a blast at Sunway Lagoon. If you want a wet and wild adventure do visit this place.
